Our Red Tulips are in full bloom! It’s been a long, cold winter. Old Man Winter held on for a long time, but finally our bright Red Tulips have sprouted and bloomed! Tulips are very easy to grow. During the Autumn, plant the bulb six inches in the ground, pointy side up. Add a little Bulb Booster, such as Espoma BT4 4-Pound Bulb-tone 4-10-6 Plant Food, to the soil before covering the hole. Apply about a cup of water. Tulips are perennials, so they return year after year.

For beginner gardeners, if you have deer in your area, the deer may eat the blooms before they open. Use an excellent deer repellent such as Bobbex Deer Repellent 32 oz. Ready To Use Spray – B550110. Be sure to plant the bulbs in area that received 6 or more hours of direct sun per day. Planting bulbs in the Autumn will reward you with beautiful blooms in the Spring!
