We Love Myrtle Beach! It’s like visiting a tropical island with all the conveniences and amenities of home. Palm trees, ocean breeze, and sunny skies invite us back year after year. While taking a stroll down Ocean Boulevard, we noticed a stunning garden near the Breakers Resort. A combination of Coleus, Croton, Salvia, and Sweet Potato Vines provide bright colors and contrasts! This display proves that you don’t need flowers to develop a gorgeous display. All of the plants shown in this video have color, interest, and texture in the leaves.

For beginner gardeners, you may have a problem with deer because Coleus, Croton, Salvia, and Sweet Potato vines don’t have much of a fragrance. Deer like plants with minimal fragrance. If the deer do become a problem, use an excellent deer repellent such as Bobbex Deer Repellent 32 oz. Ready To Use Spray – B550110.

This combination of Coleus, Croton, Salvia, and Sweet Potato Vines produce a very easy maintenance garden! The only pruning would be the Salvia flowers after they bloom. If you would prefer minimal maintenance, don’t plant the Salvia.
