It’s early Spring in the Mid-Atlantic area of the U.S. and our White Hyacinth are finally in bloom! Five reasons to grow hyacinth in your garden are:

  1. Hyacinth are hardy plants that require very little maintenance.
  2. Hyacinth are deer-resistant, rabbit-resistant, vole resistant, and squirrel resistant.
  3. Over time, hyacinth bulbs multiply on their own. You can always dig up the bulbs if you would like to plant them in a different area.
  4. After a long, dreary winter, Hyacinth provide a bright spot of color in your garden!

For beginner gardeners, plant the large bulbs in the Autumn, and look forward to beautiful blooms in early Spring. Dig a hole 6 inches deep and insert the bulb, flat end down, pointy end up. Happy Gardening!
