Grow Lilies in Containers

Several years ago, we planted one Asiatic Lily in this large barrel container. Now, we have a container full of Asiatic Lilies because they quickly multiply on their own! As the container became more crowded, we noticed that the Lilies stopped blooming. Our solution was to create more space in the container by periodically digging up a clump of Lilies and transplanting them to another area of our garden!

Asiatic Lilies are very easy to grow and maintain. They require very little maintenance. There is no need to prune or fertilize Asiatic Lilies. When the weather is hot and dry, apply water to the container. That’s all! The one downside for Asiatic Lilies is that deer and rabbits love them! Growing them in a container that is inaccessible to deer and rabbits eliminates the one downside!

Check your local Home Depot, Lowe’s, eBay, or online Burpee Gardening for their selection of Asiatic Lilies!
