When You Wake Up & Deer are Munching Your Plants!

If you are a gardener, chances are something is eating your plants. Whether it’s insects, fungus, groundhogs, squirrels, rabbits, deer, or any other garden pest, it’s frustrating. Imagine waking up, looking out the window, and seeing a family of deer munching your plants!

What Does Deer Damage Look Like?

We just spotted deer damage on our azalea bush. If you notice branches or leaves with jagged edges, it’s possible you have deer damage. The ends look like they’ve been chewed off. The video below gives a close-up view of deer damage.

What to Do About Deer Damage?

We recommend spraying deer repellent such as Bobbex B550100 Concentrated Deer Repellent, 32-Ounce. A good deer repellent lasts for a few months, and Bobbex does! By the way, azaleas are acid-loving shrubs, so when fertilizing azaleas, use an acid-rich fertilizer such as Espoma HT8 Holly-Tone 4-3-4, 8 Pounds.

For beginner gardeners, deer damage is tricky to spot. It’s very subtle because it happens every night over a period of time. Keep an eye on your plants and shrubs, and if you spot leaves and branches that have been chewed off, apply a good deer repellent Bobbex B550100 Concentrated Deer Repellent, 32-Ounce right away!

Although deer can cause extensive damage to your garden and landscape, they are beautiful creatures … See a doe and her fawns scamper when they hear me …
