It&#8217;s sporting bright red and yellow blooms and is standing 10 feet tall. We purchased the Camellia at a plant nursery in Chincoteague, Virginia about 7 years ago. It was about 18 inches tall at that time. It&#8217;s very easy to grow and maintain. We fertilize once per year with a special acidic fertilizer such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B001R4P120\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B001R4P120&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=itsgati-20&amp;linkId=S6KXS6JNA7LR6MV2\">Espoma HT8 Holly-Tone 4-3-4, 8 Pounds<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=itsgati-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B001R4P120\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>. We have never pruned the Camellia. Nature has a pruning machine called &#8220;deer.&#8221; As you will see in the video, deer have munched around the bottom of the Camellia even though we surrounded it with chicken wire.
