Just prune the spikes once the flowers turn light brown. The problem is that I would prefer to cut it back to about 4 &#8211; 6 inches, so it will continue to bloom throughout the Autumn. Guess who wins? Sometimes as adults, we feel the same way, but we have to suppress those feelings and try to be mature look at the big picture. The big picture is that they are only plants. As much as I love my plants, I love my gardening partner even more, much more! He has spent countless hours helping me garden by digging holes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLj_on3giC1-PKa8P_8Mm1X1TVpdrSxnA1\">transplanting large plants<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLj_on3giC1-PD3KTYOYbliKJ7nKA_Ohq4\">pruning<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLj_on3giC1-PPNe33WSpMBTPGIBymcR72\">fertilizing<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/itsgardeningtime.com\/?p=128\">watering<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCGCj88bfX_pKAN13jq_F5jg\">taking hundreds of videos<\/a>! I have to say goodbye lovely <a href=\"http:\/\/itsgardeningtime.com\/?p=6282\">Zinnias<\/a> because they will be covered with fungus in a few days. It was an exciting and fun gardening season, especially watching the Monarch and Yellow Tiger Swallowtail butterflies enjoy the Zinnia nectar!
