Why Havre de Grace? Here are 4 reasons:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Havre de Grace is steeped in American history<\/li>\n<li>Havre de Grace is an inexpensive daytrip if you live within a few hours drive<\/li>\n<li>Havre de Grace is a very interesting place due to it&#8217;s geographic location<\/li>\n<li>Havre de Grace was new territory for us &#8230; a new place to explore &#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Havre de Grace sits at the head of the Chesapeake Bay and the mouth of the Susquehanna River. Its geographic location on the coast of central Maryland led to its early industry of oyster and crab harvesting, and extensive fruit orchards. Food products were shipped all up and down the east coast of America. Havre de Grace is an historic town because 400 British troops came ashore during the War of 1812, and burned and plundered the town.
