We have lots of “Pretty in Pink” in our garden! The top left photo is a pot of pink impatiens. Impatiens like shade, so if you have a shady spot in your garden, they are perfect! For more information, photos, and videos on impatiens, click here.

The top right photo is a pot of pink geraniums. Geraniums are durable plants that bloom throughout Spring, Summer and Autumn (until the first hard frost). The secret to continuous blooms is to deadhead the blooms after they are spent. Geraniums are heavy feeders, therefore, for optimum performance, fertilize every few weeks. The lower right photo is a pot of light pink begonias. Begonias are very easy to grow. They prefer full to partial sun. No need to prune because the blooms fall off by themselves. To learn more about caring for begonias, click here.

For beginner gardeners, the key to beautiful blooms is to give the plant what it wants. In other words,if the plant likes full sun, place it in a location that receives 6 or more hours of sun per day. If a plant likes shade, such as impatiens, make sure it receives very little sun. The second most important key is watering the plant when needed. To learn when to water plants, click here.
