Squirrels Digging Holes in Your #Containers?

It’s early Summer in the Mid-Atlantic area of the U.S.A. and we are trying our best to use natural methods to protect our plants! This morning, we discovered our container of Marigolds and Yarrow seedlings had a hole that looked like a squirrel is looking for a place to bury his nuts for Winter! Not in my container though! We sprinkled a nice hot surprise of red pepper flakes for him to inhale tonight! Even though it’s Summer, squirrels receive their signal from Mother Nature when it’s time to hide their nuts, so all of our containers are at risk. Next up, our Wild Berry Coneflower that was attacked by deer 2 nights ago … we sprinkle red pepper flakes just in case the pesky squirrel has any ideas … To see video click here
