We are on “cherry blossom watch!” It is late Winter in the Mid-Atlantic area of the U.S. We have 8 inches of fresh snow covering our landscape, which includes our Japanese Cherry Trees! In just a few short weeks, we will have beautiful cherry blossoms! The above photo was taken a few years ago. Our trees are much larger and even more beautiful now … stay tuned for weekly updates!

Cherry Blossom UPDATE!

It’s late afternoon on a Spring day and we have noticed our Japanese Cherry trees are starting to bloom! These are the first early blooms so the trees are not in full bloom yet. The dainty pink blossoms look like pink clouds of joy!

Cherry Blossom UPDATE #2!

Our Japanese Cherry trees are now in full bloom! Their blossoms last for about 1 week, but they are well worth the wait!

Standing on our upper deck, we can see the canopy of our Japanese Cherry trees in full bloom!

For beginner gardeners, Japanese cherry trees require very little maintenance. Prune with tree lopers every couple of years and enjoy the blooms each Spring!
