Release Your Stress Into Nature
Gardening is like going outside to play! Create a gardening oasis wherever you live. Even if it’s one potted plant. Step outside, take a deep breath or two, be silent, and focus on the nature surrounding you. Focus on everything from the huge majestic trees to the small potted plant. Listen to the birds chirping. Watch the butterflies float by. Wherever you are, find some form of nature to focus on. Let nature dominate your thoughts. Think only about the nature around you and the wonder of it all. Let nature absorb your stress!

5 Ways to Experience Nature
Let your 5 senses experience nature by doing the following:
- Use your sense of hearing to listen to the birds chirp.
- Use your sense of taste to eat organic fruits, nuts, and seeds. If you are growing vegetables in your garden or have fruit trees, eat the vegetables and fruits from your garden. Home grown vegetables and fruits have a more flavorful taste than commercially-produced vegetables and fruits. A side benefit is improved physical health.
- Use your sense of feel to touch the plants and shrubs and trees. Succulent plants, like Sedum, are especially gratifying to touch.
- Use your sense of sight to look at all of the beautiful nature surrounding you. Watch the colorful butterflies float by …
- Use your sense of smell to inhale and enjoy the fragrant flowers!
